Custom Designs for Your Home

We know every home is different. Our in-house engineering team will custom design your solar system based on your home's architecture and your family's projected electrical needs. Browse our photo gallery to see the custom solar systems we've designed for other homeowners like you.

SolarCity engineers will complete a structural analysis of your home and produce a full set of structural design and electrical blueprints. Your design plans will also contain the specification sheets for all system components, such as the solar panels and inverters for your project. SolarCity will then submit your approved plans to your local city government to obtain the necessary building permits.

Quality Installation

SolarCity's professional installation teams have extensive experience and will build your system to our high standards. SolarCity has installed thousands of customers across 500 building departments. We have NABCEP-certified employees in supervisory positions, the highest certification available. We use only the highest quality solar panels and install with stainless steel hardware.

Once we complete construction, we will schedule an inspection with your local building department to confirm that the installation conforms to local regulations and with the utility company for connection to the power grid.

Project Management

SolarCity has a full Customer Care team that will plan out your installation and coordinate all team members, including the engineering design team, installation crew and external city and utility inspectors. They will keep you apprised of project status every step of the way. In addition, every new SolarCity customer is given a personal online account where you can access your project status at anytime.

Our technology approach allows us to efficiently manage solar installations from beginning to end, and that saves time and money on your project. Our in-house software tracks the status of every job and gives our team immediate digital access to your project plan, engineering drawings, original site audit measurements and photos—all so that we can stay completely informed and keep your project on schedule.
